Yes, “JD” might pardon Trump if Trump resigned, but “before he leaves office” also means before he were to die: they will arrange doctor not to put a time on the death certificate until pardons are handed out.

I once received a resume for a job I was hiring for where the person misspelled their own name. They claimed that they were the best one for the job. Without needing to go any further, I threw the resume in the trash. I would do the same thing with what this self-claimed “genius” President signed.

Seems that, at least in terms of sending ballots TO voters, voting officials should use generic envelopes with a generic county/city/town gov’t address (e.g., “_ Town Hall”), to make it indistinguishable to USPS, maybe accompanied by a PR campaign for folks to watch for mail from the local gov’t.
