I had never experienced anything like it and have never experienced anything like it since It was INSANE! Thanks for everything Tim! You're a good, decent man and you did things your way. Not Steve Jobs' way, but your way. Apple is better because of your leadership.

8 years ago, @tim_cook RT'd my iPhone XS and XS Max review with a simple 👀 emoji (was that his shortest tweet ever?!) The RTs and reply notifications were nonstop and caused my iPhone to become unusable and battery to deplete in minutes.

How mad is everyone that GTA VI runs at 30 fps? Me, I don’t care as long as the game plays well and looks good Frame rates beyond 30 have never mattered to me so long as the game isn’t unplayable GTA VI looks incredible and I have no doubt Rockstar will not drop the ball on it

Which company is doing the best phone colors for their flagships? Google, Samsung, or Apple?

031

Ray Wong @raywong.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

❌12GB RAM for 256GB storage ❌Tensor G6 lags and not even just for gaming. Hang-ups everywhere slowing Android 17 down ❌Costs $100 more ❌Gemini's app automation is slow ❌Meh longer 120x "Pro Zoom"

021

Ray Wong @raywong.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

✅Pixelsnap magnetic Qi2.2 charging and accessories support ✅Stunning design with more scratch-resistant displays ✅Rambler really works for removing filler words ✅Gemini can automate app tasks and it really works ✅All-day battery life ✅Solid cameras ❌HiLight LED is a useless gimmick

I'm launching a newsletter! Observation Deck (real ones know) is home to my thoughts about all sorts of nerdy pop culture and entertainment journalism. My first blog is about the new Ghost in the Shell, and how its reverence for the original manga lets it play with some boundary-breaking ideas.

The Digital Boundaries of the New 'Ghost in the Shell'

Science Saru's spin on 'Ghost in the Shell' goes straight back to the manga—and celebrates the digital borders it frequently crosses.

Is it just me or did this week's Prime Day (more like week) totally suck? The deals feel lighter than ever

040

Ray Wong @raywong.bsky.social · 22/06/2026

The reality across the board is that gaming is now more expensive than ever. My advice: don't pay full price for hardware or software unless you can afford to or simply must own and play on day one. Wait for a sale.
