Thailand should consider this given the civil engineering failures over the past few years, the annual flooding and pollution, and that the PM is a licensed civil engineer.

Compassion should never be selective. During a 2003 lecture at the University of Waterloo, Jewish-American scholar Dr. Norman G. Finkelstein offered a powerful reminder about compassion and the conflict. “If you truly had compassion in your heart, your tears would also be for the Palestinians.”

The Parthasarathy Temple, Chennai, is one of the city's most spiritually and historically significant landmarks. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it is believed to have been built in the 8th century by the Pallava King Narasimhavarman I. #street_photography #chennai #hindu #streetphotograpby_india
The main deity, Lord Krishna, bears scars on his face, symbolically representing the arrows of Bhishma from the Mahabharata war. He is seen with his entire family, including his consort Rukmini, brother Balarama, and son Pradyumna.

The temple complex is unique because it houses shrines for five different forms of Vishnu: Narasimha, Rama, Gajendra Varadaraja, Ranganatha, and Krishna.

Wuhua Tower lifts towards the sky. Facing the structure, Dali Ancient City is through the gate and on the right side. On the left are the Cangshan Mountains.
The Cangshan Mountains are a dramatic range west of Dali Ancient City in Yunnan, featuring 19 peaks and 18 streams, with the highest peak, Malong, reaching 4,122 meters. They are famous for their snow scenes, alpine meadows, temples, and hiking trails, making them one of Dali’s most iconic natural features.

Weishan Ancient Town is famous for being quiet, architectural, and "authentic," the northern part of the county has a very different historical reputation.

In the 1980s and 1990s, the Yongjian and Dacang areas of Weishan became notorious as major transit points for the "Golden Triangle" drug trade.

Pure Jungle - Dangrek Mountains or Phanom Dangrek from Surin, TH towards Cambodia. Caution is advised as the vast area contains mines. This area experienced intense fighting over border disputes, corruption, & transnational crime orgs. #photograpby #cambodia #thailand #borderlands See ALT for more
The Dangrek Mountains are unique in that they are not a traditional mountain range with peaks on both sides. Instead, they form a massive cuesta, characterized by:
The Gentle Slope - On the northern (Thai) side, the land rises gradually from the Khorat Plateau.
The Escarpment - On the southern (Cambodian) side, the range ends abruptly in a steep sandstone cliff that drops significantly into the Cambodian plain.
The escarpment has historically served as both a barrier and a bridge between the two regions:
Ancient Sites - Some of the most famous Khmer temples are situated along or atop this range, most notably Prasat Preah Vihear, which sits on a cliff edge overlooking Cambodia.
Natural Border- The watershed line of the escarpment defines much of the international boundary between Thailand and Cambodia.
Ecology - The range is home to several protected areas, including the Phanom Dong Rak Wildlife Sanctuary, which preserves the dry evergreen forests native to the escarpment.

Miao people (aka the Hmong in many parts of Southeast Asia) are one of the most culturally vibrant and historically significant ethnic groups in Yunnan. While Guizhou has the largest population, the Miao in Yunnan have a distinct identity shaped by high-altitude living and centuries of migration.

In Yunnan, the Miao are not a single monolithic group but are often categorized by their traditional attire. You’ll find them primarily in Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, as well as parts of Honghe, Zhaotong, and Qujing.

The Miao are renowned as "the people of silver and song." Their culture is deeply tied to their oral history, as they traditionally lacked a written language, instead "writing" their history into their embroidery.

Mount Huangshan's misty peaks, twisted pines, and shifting clouds inspired entire schools of landscape art, particularly during the Ming and Qing dynasties. #photography #china #landscape_photography #china_photography #analog-photography See ALT for more
The Huangshan School of
Painting originated in the Ming–Qing period, artists like Mei Qing, Shi Tao, and Jian Jiang lived in Huangshan to absorb its scenery. Their works emphasized compact brush touches, graceful outlines, and elegant styles, forming a distinct landscape tradition. The mountain’s mist and cloud seas encouraged painters to develop ink-wash methods that capture ambiguity and depth, hallmarks of Chinese watercolor aesthetics. Huangshan became a metaphor for endurance and transcendence, themes reflected in the philosophical undercurrents of literati painting.
Many Huangshan landscapes include poetic inscriptions in calligraphy, merging visual and literary art. This practice reinforced the unity of word and image in Chinese aesthetics.
Just as calligraphy embodies rhythm and spirit, Huangshan’s landscapes were seen as embodying Daoist and Confucian ideals of harmony with nature.

Look closely to understand the scale. You will see my friend Ali. The canyons are carved into the red sandstone of the Flaming Mountains. The environment is one of the most extreme on Earth: Turpan is known as the "Oven of China," with summer temperatures frequently exceeding 50°C. 👁️ Alt Text
Tuyuq Valley near Tuyuq Village which is known as the "Oven of China," with summer temperatures frequently exceeding 50°C (122°F). Despite the aridity, the villagers use an ancient Karez irrigation system,a network of underground canals, to grow some of the world’s sweetest grapes right in the middle of the desert. Just outside these types of canyon villages, you’ll find the Bezeklik caves. These are grottoes carved directly into the cliffside of the Mutou Valley.
They contain intricate murals dating from the 5th to the 14th centuries.
They represent the intersection of Persian, Indian, and Chinese artistic styles that occurred because of the Silk Road trade.
