And no, they aren’t the same. A fairy is a playful magical spirit, known to cast spells and charms. A nymph is a deity of nature with overwhelming beauty, and lives in isolation. In fact, RO’s nymphs don’t have anything in common with real nymphs aside from being “drop dead gorgeous.” (Blah)

To clarify one thing people have been getting mixed up about: Betilla, and her sisters AREN’T NYMPHS in the series. They’re fairies, as how Betilla was originally perceived as before Rayman Origins. And since she’s a fairy, and her sisters will be fairies as well.
