'Fountain Angel' (c.1902) Bronze, by Raffaello Romamelli located at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The figure may represent Persephone, queen of the underworld, guarded by the dog Cerberus and was once part of a much larger display for the 1904 Worlds Fair. This fountain has moved around St. Louis a lot before it was restored and found its way to the Gardens.

C. A. Tilles donated his farm to the City of St. Louis to be used as a public park. The park facilities were constructed beginning in 1938 by the City using funds from the WPA (Works Progress Administration).

This is American Pokeweed, which if handled correctly can be used to make a very beautiful fuchsia/pink dye. Though I have seen the dye sometimes turn purple just depends on preparation.
Please don’t try this at home, unless you know what you’re doing, as the plant is extremely toxic and can irritate the skin and lungs if inhaled.

It is, though I bought mine from a 3rd party vendor who should not be named the original creator has the STL file up on a few different model sites. They make for great stop motion projects or just general toy photography. www.printables.com/model/981111...

I just realized I forgot the Alt Text for this one: Rose window of Webster Groves Presbyterian Church built in 1924 as a Gothic Revival and is constructed out of limestone. The church is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Thanks I wasn’t sure! I’ve never seen a butterfly that was so fuzzy, so it had me a tad confused. Granted entomology hasn’t been a strong subject of mine. To many tiny things with wings that fly lol. But butterflies, moths, and bees are ok.

Ratkey Designs @ratkeydesigns.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Yeah it’s extremely creepy when you hear the “go away” anti loitering music at 6:55pm play over the speakers at the local mall and other businesses nearby.

“Pastel Remorse”, September 29, 2026, Kinetic Park, Dardenne Prairie, Missouri, @ratkeydesigns.bsky.social.

Though it’s not part of a triptych, the color and whimsy of this photo is what keeps bringing me back to Hierobymus Bosch "The Garden of Earthly Delights", 1490-1510. Referring mostly to the center panel of the triptych.

Besides the extremely steep inclines of these slides, any small child to use them would definitely experience hell at the end of it.

Saw this sign the last time I went to one of my favorite parks down a trial I normally don’t take. This trail is also usually inaccessible due to overgrowth. Would have been nice if this warning sign was posted anywhere else in the park near the stream that runs through the entire park. The sign reads as follows: “Possible Sewage Overflow
Exposure to Water May Cause Iliness
-LEASE REPORT FOUL ODORS. UNUSUAL PISCOLORATION.
FLOW FROM OUTFALL DURING ORY WEATHER”. Welcome to your local American city, safety is only a secondary concern.
