We were in Philadelphia in 2016, on the day he turned up stumping for HRC. The authorities checking our ID couldn’t have been more pleasant as we went in to see him. Somewhat different to the atmosphere in the US now. The buzz in the crowd as his car appeared was electric as was listening to him.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I worked in a cancer hospital and the 4 week wait stds are that you should wait no longer than 28 days from an urgent suspected cancer referral or screening to find out if you have cancer or to be ruled out. A pt once told me that 4 weeks was an eternity. It stayed with me.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social re alcohol on planes there are over 400 Ryanair flights in the air as you speak. About 15 yrs ago we’ve also been subjected to a chap next to us who drank his own bottle of duty free rum on an 11 hour flight to Cuba. We’ve never had a drink on a plane since.

I read a while ago about a hunt that chased a fox onto a farmer’s property during lambing/calving time. He told them to leave, they refused. The farmer had a shotgun and a licence and was on his land so let off a shot, into the ground, away from the hunt, protecting his stock. The hunt left….
