Packaging would be pretty horrid.

For comparison, my rest-of-the-year delightful profile pic, by @heyheymomo.bsky.social .
A very cute and friendly looking pig viewed head-on. The illustration is clean and simple, almost child-like. Delightful.

Spooktober profile pic by the very talented and slightly concerning @theaveragejoey.bsky.social
My new profile pic, which is a pig with arms and legs, wearing a little cap, viewed head-on. Except it's not the little lovely friend it usually is, but a horrifying monstrosity.

There's still a ways to go though. EVs only make up 17% of the current stock. But considering the sales numbers, this number should grow rapidly over the coming years. Source: Statistics Denmark (www.statistikbanken.dk/bil52)
A stacked area chart showing the change in share of current passenger cars in Denmark in the period 2011-2026 split by propellant (Petrol, Diesel, Electricity, Hybrid/petrol and Hybrid/Diesel). Until 2020, it was roughly a 80/20 split between petrol and diesel, but since then both Petrol and diesel have declined, while EVs have increased significantly. Hybrids have grown to make up a few percent.

The most recent numbers are:
Petrol: 59.4%
Diesel: 19.6%
Electricity: 17.1%
Hybrid/petrol: 3.8%
Hybrid/diesel: 0.1%

Denmark has rapidly shifted nearly all new passenger car purchase from fossil fuels to EVs. As of the latest numbers, EVs make up 94% of new purchases, up from roughly 5% in 2020. Source: Statistics Denmark (www.statistikbanken.dk/bil55)
A chart showing the percentage of new passenger car registrations in Denmark from 2011 to 2026 grouped by type of propellant (petrol, diesel, electricity, hybrid/petrol and hybrid/diesel). The share of fossil fuel (petrol/diesel) was around to 95% until 2020, at which point the share of hybrids and later full electic cars start growing rapidly. Diesel quickly fell to near-zero while petrol steadily declined to just a few percent in 2026 where electric cars account for 95% of new car registrations.

Roughly equivalent chart for Denmark because I was curious. Note that the time frame is different and hybrids/PHEVs aren't tracked separately. Source: Statistics Denmark (www.statistikbanken.dk/bil55)
