Not gonna lie, I always crack up when I see the image of Yanineko trying to smoke a massive cigarette But what makes me admire Chainsmoker Cat is that it’s the first anime comedy I’ve seen in a while that felt like the more subversive comedies of the 00s like Zetsubou Sensei and Detroit Metal City

Sorry, I loved Yosuke Mizoe. I’ve seen many takes on him being terribly written, but I couldn’t get enough of his antics, his wild stunts, and his love for Seiroku His flip-flopping between being a nutty ally and a vindictive foe kept me transfixed on what he was going to do next

Boyfriend Dungeon: The gameplay was pretty addictive, and the story was short and sweet. Leah was my go-to for how sweet and down to earth she was. But I wish the ending was a little beefier since it felt a little more abrupt

I’m usually generous with Nintendo Directs, but I really dont like how the new OoT remake looks so washed out. In the process of making the environments look more detailed, it managed to make Hyrule look so lifeless and cheap. Honestly would’ve been better to port the 3DS remake than do all this

One detail I appreciate about this series is that the East LA setting is a nice change of scenery considering how many times NYC or a fictional metropolis is used as a backdrop in superhero comics. Where there’s a greater focus on neighborhoods and freeways that are often missing from comics

I Want Your Sex (2026): Likely one of Gregg Araki’s more accessible films. Liked how it used S&M as a way of explaining that sex is more of a language than an action, and how important communication is to make sure intimacy isn’t a one way street. It’s also got a good sense of humor as well

Obsession: Watched this once I learned that Bear’s actor played Mikleo in Zestiria. Pretty unsettling to see Nikki held hostage by the curse. With how harrowing the internal war between Nikki and the curse was, I’d go as far as to say that focusing on Bear’s POV made it less scary than it should be

Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle. This film is ass, but every time I watch it, I get won over more and more by this horny fever dream of a film. Demi Moore, Justin Theroux, and Crispin Glover are chewing scenery the entire time and it rocks. Bernie Mac and the soundtrack are actually great in this too

Go For It, Nakamura-kun (2026): The anime’s an absolute banger. I love how it helps to expand the narrative beyond the more comedic tone of the manga by adding more details to learn about Nakamura and Hirose. Truly a remarkable adaptation
