Inspiring day with other Rangers at Wild Tolworth, first large-scale rewilding project in London. Met their free roaming Sussex cattle & learnt about the many benefits a non-medicated cow pat can bring to increasing biodiversity!@citizenzoo.bsky.social @nationalparkcity.bsky.social

Clocks go back Sunday 26th Oct. Our evenings get darker earlier & that means a big change for wildlife. Hedgehogs, foxes & deer will suddenly find their routines overlapping with the rush hour. 🦊 Slow down during dawn & dusk. 🦔 Watch for movement at the roadside.

Really pleased to see cinnabar moth caterpillars are back in Pimp Hall Nature Reserve this year! Fact: Common ragwort is one of the most frequently visited flowers by butterflies in the UK and more than 200 species of invertebrate have been recorded on it 😀.

Quite the transformation, it’s now possible to see into the meadow area once again thanks to recent hedgelaying along the boundary. #PimpHallNatureReserve A traditional craft that involves cutting and bending the stems of small trees to create a living fence.

Will be putting the camera trap out this week to see if the hedgehogs are still out & about 🦔. Did you know not all hedgies hibernate 💤 & even if they do they can wake up to look for food & water. But remember a hedgehog seen out in the day, is not ok! Be prepared they will need help from a rescue.
