FIRST PANTAGES THEATRE
We designed the Vodville in tribute to the design and craftsmanship of the original Vancouver Pantages Theatre. Our name was inspired by its "VODVIL PICTURES" marquee, c. 1933.
Built-in 1907 at Main and Hastings as a vaudeville theatre, it was converted in 1920 to a movie theatre. It operated under a variety of names over the years, surviving through economic depressions, a bombing, the Hays code, and children sneaking in the back door.
In 1994, the theatre was closed, and despite concerted efforts by heritage advocates, the Pantages Theatre was demolished in 2011 to make way for a housing project. At that time, it was the oldest surviving vaudeville theatre in Canada.
VANCOUVER HACK SPACE
The Vodville is made possible by the love, generosity, tools, and expertise of the Vancouver Hack Space community workshop. (VHS)
Hack Spaces are community-operated physical places, where people share their interest in tinkering with technology, meet and work on their projects, and learn from each other.*
VHS is equipped with a wood shop, welding shop, machine shop. 3-D printers.
CNC machining, a laser cutter, ventilated work area, sewing area, electronics lab, and much more!
VHS is an open co-op type organization, volunteer-run and not-for-profit. Anyone can join*, at any time, no wait list. (Although there is a probationary period before you get a key.)
Non-members can come in as guests, or for free during Open House hours on Tuesday evenings, but are limited to low-liability tools.

cool but have to wonder how this pole survived 70 years. (thinking on the side entry carport we had in high school with a concrete planter that may or may not have gouged tf out of my mom’s car. they were hypothetically very displeased with me)

Murder in the second degree.
1) A person is guilty of murder in the second degree when:
a) With intent to cause the death of another person but without premeditation, he or she causes the death of such person or of a third person; or
(b) He or she commits or attempts to commit any felony, including assault, other than those enumerated in RCW 9A.32.030(1)(c), and, in the course of and in furtherance of such crime or in immediate flight therefrom, he or she, or another participant, causes the death of a person other than one of the participants; except that in any prosecution under this subdivision
(1)(b) in which the defendant was not the only participant in the underlying crime, if established by the defendant by a preponderance of the evidence, it is a defense that the defendant:
(i) Did not commit the homicidal act or in any way solicit, request, command, importune, cause, or aid the commission thereof; and
(ii) Was not armed with a deadly weapon, or any instrument, article, or substance readily capable of causing death or
serious physical injury; and
(iii) Had no reasonable grounds to believe that any other participant was armed with such a weapon, instrument, article, or
substance; and
(iv) Had no reasonable grounds to believe that any other participant intended to engage in conduct likely to result in death
or serious physical injury.
(2) Murder in the second degree is a class A felony.
