Deciding who to send remains some of the hardest game choices I have ever made. Happy anniversary from Bae and the Reader!

My first concept was indeed very over engineered. I simplified it down after realizing I can get a lot of support from the back strap, and it’s much more stable once the pole sits snug in the mount. I plan to share the model soon so folks can use it for themselves!

Prototyping! My goal for the astroglobe is to create a support that allows me to give the “floating” appearance from the game. I toyed around Witt’s few ideas including just a clear acrylic staff. But this palm holder is working pretty well!

The snake was one of my pet art concepts. In early brainstorms we established the Sultai breed particularly aesthetic flora and fauna. My partner has two snakes and loves them very dearly, so I was excited to find a spot to get a cute boopable snoot. The added hat was too perfect.

The Sagas are a excellent encapsulation of the collaboration on this set. Working with design on including them in the set and what they would represent. And collaborating with Forrest (the lead Art Director) to use these as diegetic representations of the clans different art forms.

I was asked about the dual land cycle - for these we chose to lean into the "enemy" and "allied" color pair aspect. So on the enemy pairs we showcased the aftermath of a battle between clan while on the ally pairs we featured places where the clans lived alongside each other somewhat amicably.

Hat! This was my first time working with Fossshape, I’m super happy with how it worked out, it’s lightweight but holding the shape really well. I chose to do embroidery on the large ones so they could match the curve of the brim and have some consistency with the dress. #ffxiv #cosplay

I’m not great at getting a perfectly smooth finish on prints/ Worbla/ foam. Rather than getting frustrated with myself, this time I’m doing more of a stipple paint finish to blend the imperfections into it more. I’m pretty happy with how it looks!

Are you like me and very bad at remembering to add alt text to images before you post and then have to delete the post to add alt text. Blue Sky has a setting that won’t let you post without! Super cool and high suggest enabling it.

For example with Meg I built a corset as the base top - the tunic snapped to it as did the shoulder harness. It even provides the pressure to hold the wing in place!

Final version. Not quite as clean as I would have aimed for - I missed a couple of things in the digitizing and alignment is hard. But fixed the gaps with more stars and I think with the beading it’ll be what I want!

I have yet to really find a reliable way to make registration marks for multi-hooping. So sometimes I’m just using the “eyes strat”. But when it works it is sooooo satisfying. The gap is intentional - I have a another bit of embroidery covering it.
