My good friend Róisín @roisin.northsky.social has apparently been perma banned by bsky (which is also applying to using her northsky pds account on the northsky or blacksky appviews) for making a joke. Bsky considers this "a Critical Violation — content that is illegal, poses imminent harm"

Also perceptions of crime are skewed massively by the stories pushed by the media. The post 9/11 and War On Terror media environment is built around scaring people to sell clicks, so it's no surprise that tracks with people *feeling* less safe despite evidence they're safer than ever
