“Everything feels commercialized, bureaucratized and less freewheeling today.” Can’t say I disagree. But I’d argue that book-to-screen adaptations are a significant culprit. To make a living as a writer in the 21st century, your work be multimedia friendly — and that requires homogeneity. #booksky
