We need new leaders. The current ones are too deep in the D.C. trees to see that the forest is burning down. “Thank you sir may I have another?”

🧵 Yesterday I shared my views on how disordered discourse has captured the US state and the risk of that happening elsewhere, but I don’t want to leave you hanging without proposing a solution.

One impact of of the Trump action to throw Federal spending programs into chaos is it will slow the economy. It’s the opposite of an economic stimulus program and the odds of a major recession are growing.

So much of state and local government is funded in some part by the Feds. Even with court injunctions, there is widespread paralysis in state and local government because they don’t know when or if funding will arrive.

@b1gfootball.bsky.social selling equity in the conference to private investors may be the most shortsighted thing ever in college sports. Permanently selling off a portion of future revenue for some quick cash today. A conf. of public Universities now answering to PE shareholders demanding returns.

Obviously I don’t condone murder. But on the broader issue, I’ll note that in the past 2 years we have been denied coverage several times for things that our doctors deemed necessary. Never happened before.
