The story behind THE BEAT's logo was explained by author Lu Hersey: "Comics artist Hunt Emerson found her pictured alongside Prince Buster. She turned out to be Brigitte Bond, a ska singer, actress & trans woman. No one in the band knew she was trans, but somehow that makes her even more perfect.'
