Phew, turns out my microphone's sudden feedback noise was caused by a bad cord I was able to replace. Still looking at high quality recording mics, but now there's no urgency behind my browsing!

Was doing some line recording when I suddenly started hearing some high pitched feedback from my mic. I don't know if my hearing is getting better or if this is something that's just starting now, but I might have to start shopping for a really fancy XLR microphone if I can't fix it >.>
