Long time since I posted - work has been nuts all month, and it's not over yet! In the very few off-hours I've had this month, been playing FFVII Rebirth PC at max settings w/ReShade and oh my gosh it is soo beautiful! Along w/some QoL mods, this run's blowing my PS5 playthrough out of the water!

I've been working with React DOM for years now, but only this past weekend decided to dip my toes into Native. Played a bit with the React Native framework Expo, built the tutorial app, and really digging the DX so far. Time to try building a little something real with it! 🤓 Super excited!

Okay, responding to text messages by talking to my smartwatch is pretty dang cool. ANYWAYS, Happy Christmas Eve to all those who celebrate - and a happy generic evening to the rest of ya! 💙 Get off social media and go hug your loved ones!

As a lifelong Ghibli fan, I'm ashamed for being so late on this - but I finally saw The Boy and the Heron. Really enjoyed it! Was happy to see that Miyazaki brand of fantasy again after the unusually grounded (but excellent!) The Wind Rises. Mononoke is still my favorite, though. 🌲🦌🌲

When I joined my current company, I was given the option to use my personal GitHub account or to make a new one just for work. I opted for the 2nd option - separation of concerns and whatnot - but kinda regret it? Really missing my green squares. I'm still pushing code every day, I promise!😭

Bummed that FFVII Rebirth didn't get GOTY, but I can accept Astro Bot. It's a good thing Rebirth won Best Soundtrack, though. The arrangements and new tracks are truly transcendental. Most exciting thing at TGA to me was the PC release of Rebirth next month. Can't wait to do a modded playthrough!

Possibly the best selfie ever taken? My #100devs teacher @leonnoel.bsky.social and my buddy @shashi.bsky.social were both instrumental in my breaking into tech. 💙 Also featuring fellow 100Dev'ers Allena, @funbunch.bsky.social, and @leaht.codes peeking out from behind my neck 🥷🤣 #CommitYourCode

I attended several talks on using AI in JS apps at #CommitYourCode from @codestackr.com, Jacob Orshalick, and Jerry Reghunadh. I finally have an idea of how LLMs and RAG work under the hood. (Vectors are wild, yo) Excited to try building my own RAG AI feature into a future project! 🤖

Fear nearly kept me from joining #100Devs. Broke through and built the projects that got me hired. Fear kept me from taking online networking seriously. Broke through and met my future manager. Fear kept me from conferences. Broke through and have made invaluable friends and connections.

As a poor boy whose life was saved by @leonnoel.bsky.social's guidance, I'm a huge fan of breaking down the societal/financial walls that keep the less-privileged out of tech. What folks like Leon have done for education, @dthompsondev.bsky.social has just done for conferences with #CommitYourCode🧵

#CommitYourCode conf is over, with $10k+ raised for charity and 100s of new connections forged between attendees. Let's keep those connections strong until next year! If you're not already in the CYC starter pack, lemme know so I can get you in and help us all keep in touch! go.bsky.app/AtFoeEH

Sad realization that the #CommitYourCode Conference is actually over. The last 2 days have been nothing short of life changing. - Ran a conference for 500+ - Donated $10,000+ to charity - Saw old friends, made new ones - Gave a talk about Tailwind ...and we’re doing it again next year!

#CommitYourCode was wild ya’ll. It’s: Amazing this came together in 3 months. Incredible it raised $10,000+ in charity. Utterly humbling so many amazing humans still let me follow them around for 2 days straight.

SPEAKERS! The Commit Your Code Conference is next week on December 5th and 6th! Are there any JavaScript or Java Speakers who would like to speak at the event that are in the Dallas Fort Worth Area? We just had a few last-minute cancellations and want to fill these spots.

Ahhh the weekend. I could continue working through the latest course I picked up... could work on a personal project... could get some networking done.... maybe sweep the kitchen... OR I could stay in my PJs and play modded Stardew Valley for 48 hours straight. Yes, let's do that last thing.

BlueSky intro time! Hi! I'm Adam, a #100Devs alumni and full stack TypeScript dev working in mental health. I love gaming on my Switch, camping, hiking, and photography. Before I was a coder, I spent 7 years on the road as a photographer, shooting the natural wonders of the National Parks.

IF YOU WERE PART OF TECH TWITTER IN ANY WAY, can you comment here so we can find everyone we knew in the community. I feel like I am going crazy trying to search for accounts and it is exhausting. Can we get a thread going on of everyone? Let's bring the community back together over here.
