Omg That's actually a Dardanelle phone number, so it could actually be Tom's. But I'd also be very surprised to find that Tom still has a local number...🤔 Anyway. Don't you love it when 2 people you hate are beefing?? 😂😂

In other news, I got some groceries delivered today, and I'm just bewildered about what I can do to help these people find my house. They miss it almost every time. I mention it's a house (not a trailer - both the other domiciles on my side of the road are trailers). I mention I'm across the road

omg This/there mouse/mice are too smart. They've been avoiding the humane traps. I just keep replacing the cheese and nothing happens. I put our sticky traps where I've seen them run. Nope. So I thought okay. I'm gonna line the doorways with sticky traps. Make it so if they run across any doorway,

It's almost 11 and I've done nothing so far today. I should really do some laundry or clean or... anything. But I can't find the motivation.

It's been such a lovely cool, lazy day, and I keep thinking how nice it would have been to have a pet to curl up with today. The landlady has said no. And considering I don't have a way around, I shouldn't have one, anyway. Scrambling for a ride to the vet in an emergency isn't pleasant. But I

I'm so clumsy, I got my parents invested by the military police. 😬 After falling off a slide (with no witnesses) and breaking my arm in 2 places, and falling face down on concrete stairs, busting out 4 teeth and biting through the skin under my bottom lip...they (rightfully) had questions.

I could not fall asleep last night, and ended up sitting up watching TV until about 2. Normally I still set an alarm for days off, so I don't waste the day, but I didn't today. Instead, I slept until almost 9! Still only 72 outside, but very humid bc of stormy weather. It's very stuffy inside, even

It's late at night and I was feeling peckish, so I poured myself a small glass of sweet tea and tore off a chunk of my homemade bread and slathered it with butter. 🤤

Omg I just saw that clip of Jonathan Bailey narrating Dracula and bloody hell (pun intended), I think I just fell out of perimenopause and I may even be pregnant right now. Better DoorDash some tests... 😂

Manifested! 😂 Rain brought the temps down pretty decently. I've turned off the ac completely. May have to turn it back on for the dehumidifier, though. For now, I'm enjoying the last of the light on the porch with a glass of sweet tea and my portable fan going to combat the humidity a bit.

What the heck? I got my next schedule (not next week; week after) and I've only got 2 hours. TWO?!? I thought I'd get more consistent hours now. I know we're getting busier bc of the time of year. And my phone was hopping today. So where are my hours?!? I need practice!!!

I made a grilled turkey and cheese sandwich and a bowl of creamy tomato soup for a late lunch/early dinner. It may not currently feel like fall, but I'm manifesting with autumnal foods! The sandwich was homemade white bread, buttered and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning, a slice

I went ahead and ordered myself a vertical dual monitor stand! I didn't want to spend any more money on "unnecessary" work stuff when I thought I was going to flame out. But since it's looking like I won't, I went for it. Besides, I had gift card and a promo code, so it wasn't much out of pocket.

In other news... Decent shift, outside that. I had to call for help once for a stupid bit of guidance with the 2nd program. Helpline person was super nice, at least. And I'm trying to give myself grace. It's a learning process, and I've only got about 30 hours of call time under my belt in this

Oh my wordddddd. Y'all, I had a call to beat about any call I've ever had. Lady calls to check order status. I have to basically narrate my every move per company policy, so I'm like "yes, ma'am, happy to do that. I'm just pulling up the tracking information to see where it is..." And she starts

Good lord. I almost wet myself bc a lady called in just before my break was supposed to start, complaining bc she had a return to send back to us through FedEx, and the guy doing deliveries in her neighborhood wouldn't just take it. Lady, *I* can't help that. They want you to call and request a pick

Really hating this new phase of sleep issues. Hot flashes and the inability to fall asleep were one thing. But this waking in the wee hours, heart racing, can't-quite-fall-back-asleep thing is ticking me off. At first, I thought it was a work thing - anxiety over the new job. But it happens EVERY

I've been hearing this gentle tapping for hours. I'd check the front camera - nobody here. I thought maybe a mouse head got onto a sticky trap in the spare room and was knocking into stuff. Nope. What is that noise?!? Finally figured it out. The porch curtains have weights on them, and the wind is

I had planned to do some errands around the house today, but unfortunately I'm just not feeling great. Super congested, head keeps pounding, and I feel really drained. So I'm just being lazy instead. I did start a loaf of bread, because I had 2 slices left and it was very needed. Brewed some sweet

I made a beautiful toaster oven grilled turkey and cheese for lunch. I pulled out an old trick we used to do at the restaurant - covered the buttered bread in Parmesan cheese and Italian seasonings. I haven't bit into it yet - gotta let it cool. But it looks so pretty and smells AMAZING. 🤤

And even the guy who turned over the Snapchat conversation waited until AFTER the initial investigation. He didn't wake up, see it, and go to the authorities. He sat on it. He could have changed the entire way this went down, but didn't. Name him. Name them ALL. They're all complicit.

I could have sworn I'd heard the phrase ages before, but hey...who am I to argue with the etymologists? But I have a funny anecdote re: this term/movie...for some reason my dad didn't understand the phrase was linked to "kicking the bucket." He thought you LITERALLY put slips of paper in a bucket

I was working at my desk a bit, and decided it was time to wind down for the night. Stood up, leaned over for a second to look at something. When I straightened up, I smacked the living crap out of my head on the shelf over my desk. 🤦🏻‍♀️😫 Well, a concussion is one way to get a good night's sleep. 😬

I was making a sandwich for dinner and looked out the back window. There's something standing on the hood of the chicken neighbors' car. What on earth is that? *Squints* Ohhh. It's a kid. And I don't mean a child. So...dogs, a cat, like 8 chickens, and now a goat. Never had a neighbor goat before.

It's still pretty warm (86), but I brought out my portable fan and tried to enjoy some porch sittin' anyhow. Unfortunately, every dang truck in the county with an annoyingly loud exhaust or diesel engine has come rambling down my road and it's giving me a headache. Guess I'm going back inside now 😡

Wow. That's awesome. For years I've been saying if Walmart, Kroger, etc. wants me to do the work of an employee, then I need an "employee discount" for that! Whenever I'm in line and someone tries to guide me over to a self-check lane I tell them nope, I'm not checking myself. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had a nice little nap this afternoon. I made sure to set an alarm so I didn't sleep too long. Don't want to mess with tonight's sleep. Since waking back up, I've done nothing. 😁 Lots of stuff to be done. But since I'm not scheduled much, I might as well spread it all out.

Another night of really poor sleep. 😭 Woke up multiple times in the night. I've been taking melatonin, but it doesn't seem to be helping. This is ridiculous. If I survive work, guess I'll take a nap after. And, just as I walked into the living room this morning...there ran a mouse. Whyyyy?

I just noticed today's date. Today would have been my mother's 85th birthday. She's been gone over 3 decades, so it's really hard to imagine her at that age. And I'm only 3 years and change younger than she was when she died. If I end up living longer than she did, that's going to be so incredibly

I just had a thought. I wonder if the reason I'm having so much trouble with the new tasks/new system at work isn't so much because I'm stupid (I know I'm not *really*. But I am very bad about putting myself down) or even because the training was so inadequate, but because of the perimenopause. 🤔
