As with the first Trump term, and it's treatment of undocumented immigrants, the cruelty is the point. We can say that it's Trump and friends, and that we did not vote for him, and that he does not represent us, but like it or not, Trump is POTUS, and all this is technically being done in our name.

Yaunti, I apologize if I put words in your mouth. I usually encounter narrative responses from people trying to justify killing an assistance program. Honestly, I don't know to encourage better spending habits but trying to do it administratively won't work and will only increase costs.

I don't think that most of the people who want to micromanage SNAP recipients or recipients of any social safety net, realize that it would only increase the administrative cost of the program. In the end, it's really about someone got something that they didn't.
