you may have seen this x post by CC_Observatory before re: scrapped concepts in which sephiroth had a feminine form in the northern crater- i wanted to post it alongside the the source in eng/jp! links in comments

X post from Cosmon Canyon Observatory @CC_Observatory: Fun Fact L: The original idea for Sephiroth's original body was that he would have partially transformed into a woman after being thrown into the mako by Cloud at Nibelheim. Sephiroth's true body in the Northern Cave would have the contours of a female too.

A dome, filled with around 500 materia the size of a person lined up in a radial pattern. Among these are some even larger materia. In the centre is an energy crystal (Ultimate Materia), and inside that is a new life form. It resembles Sephiroth. However, its body is completely naked, and the contours of the body are closer to that of a woman's.

whether i like it or not will depend entirely on how much of the writing is an artistic choice and how much is the tumblr equivalent of framing shots in tv & movies so that theyre able to be clipped and posted on tiktok

they shoyuld invent a season that doesnt come with an incurable debuff that causes you to take continuous psychic damage

020

Gamer's Delight @rakshasablade.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

now that i think about it, he went through basically the same thing sephiroth did on the nibelheim mission but a less cool, less sexy, and less justified way

the only one whos characterization got better is bill's bc they fully seem to have given up on him he mainly just does kin memories of lilith these days, which is pretty funny

tldr i think homebrew is a much better substitute for bank than these digital re releases. and anybody whos serious about dex completion will also come to that realization. the only advantage they have over homebrew is the restoration of those limited time mythical events

000

Gamer's Delight @rakshasablade.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

i own all the games physically and i Will be completing (most of) my goals in them before bank shuts down bc i had the foresight to begin this project 3 and a half years ago

100

Gamer's Delight @rakshasablade.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

youd think with the digital release of gen 3 theyd want to look into making the games compatible with each other in a way that closely resembles the originals but they really just... havent bothered all that much. which leaves emulation and/or save editing as a far superior alternative imo.

000

Gamer's Delight @rakshasablade.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

what im getting at is like.... if youre a casual fan that just wants to pick up and play the games once, the switch version is a fair, easy option but if youre a more involved fan, you may as well just emulate it. itll offer just about the same rewards/connectivity as the digital release does.

100

Gamer's Delight @rakshasablade.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

for people like me who are mainly interested in the connectivity.... why would i buy a worse version of a game i already own, especially when its home compatibility is worse than what bank currently offers.

100

Gamer's Delight @rakshasablade.bsky.social · 08/10/2026

tpc: yea we're taking away the connective tissue thats kept our video game series running for the past 25 years. but will the digital rerelease* of like a handful of games help? *theyll be an inferior version with worse compatibility

one thing about switch-era pokemon is theyre gonna hit you with an Insane battle theme thats so catchy and vibrant you wonder why every other series doesnt just give up until about 3/4 of the way through when they add some kindergarten bullshit that ruins the vibe

tho i will say depictions in their ship art range from edgy (cool, good) to just two guys hugging and they love each other soooo much and sometimes kiss on the mouth about it (BORINNNGGGG) so idk what to expect when i play it in the very far off future
