I'm still amazed people do that, it's just eye-roll inducing nowadays. And as always, a not insignificant portion of them are just insecure that they actually -want- to draw it, but resort to 'testing the room' or basically trying to get peer pressured away from doing it.

Generally it's recommended against. Visual clutter, but mostly because comments tend to get outdated, and then you need to update both the code AND the comments, but that's more relevant if you're working with a team. Good method names are key! Generally you save comments for complex spaghetti

Ha they started doing something similar here as well... They always had candy here next to the tills, but now they're also moving their main isle riight as you walk in. Oh and moving booze to sections you have to walk through to exit. Very cool.

On the AI aspect, could write a litany, but even in my non-art field, the levels of short sightedness, apathy, greed or even malice as a result of it is just soulcrushingly demotivating, has certainly taken out the passion of doing work. Totally feel you, 10 times worse for creative fields...
