In an absolutely devastating ruling, the Supreme Court has allowed the transgender military ban to go into effect. This is shocking - the ban explicitly called transgender people dishonorable for being transgender. It is as clear as day soaked in animus. www.supremecourt.gov/docket/docke...

Context about a recent dustup: @derpibooru.org is the largest My Little Pony image site on the net. A few years ago after George Floyd's death they decided to crack down on nazi and racist MLP artwork. They then flip-flopped once the nazis complained. They block anyone that brings it up.

screenshot of a derpibooru twitter post that reads "Derpibooru's administration fully supports the Black Lives Matter movement and are abhorred by the onslaught of police brutality across the United States. Listening to community feedback, we are making some changes to our content policies, effective immediately. Details below.

As many of our members are aware, Derpibooru's primary focus is on being an art archival site. Due to this, we have historically maintained a very permissive content policy in the interest of preserving as much art as possible, so long as it was acceptable under current laws and respected the rights of content creators.

Over the past few days we have recieved a lot of feedback from our community regarding this stance, and we have heard you all loud and clear. Based on the feedback we have received we are modifying out content policies.

Moving forward, our new policy is that images that appear to have been created to incite controversy or antagonize others in relation to current events will not be welcome on the site. This means that we will be immediately deleting any new uploads that we believe promote racism or attempt to downplay the Black Lives Matter movement, as well as removing several recent uploads meeting such criteria. This policy will be ongoing and may apply to other events in the future as necessary.

Site from former site admin Parasprite (raptorshy):

First I want to say that as head of the site I apologize for the mess we've created and the sense of whiplash many of you will likely have from the rapid changes. In an attempt to curtail the spreading of stuff very much against the message of the show and community inclusiveness, we took the wrong approach and applied censorship without the proper regard for freedom of expression, and this was wrong. We have listened to your concerns regarding policing hate speech and have taken it to heart.

Effective immediately we are removing the recently added rules and will not be considering ideology or beliefs when evaluating if content is compliant with the rules. While we don't necessarily endorse any specific content or viewpoint, we are a large public-facing site that chooses to not censor content that we disagree with, simply because it may be distasteful. Low quality/low effort content that is simply for tolling/baiting will still be handled by mod discretion as it was before.

One of the most fundamental rules of this booru is that users should be excellent towards each other. Balancing that with hosting art can be a hard balance to do, and we apologize for when we’ve been too heavy-handed, or allowed too much and thus made things not excellent for users. We have heard numerous concerns regarding targeted harassment and hate speech; we affirm that this is unacceptable behavior. We will work to ensure a more consistent enforcement of these rules to ensure that this rule shines through our actions.

Over the next few days we will be restoring posts that were removed during the ban, as well as any force filtering that was applied.

Derpibooru bsky post saying "Does a portrait depicting a nazi contain racism? Does an image where a nazi gets punched in the face contain racism? Think a bit about it"

As several people have pointed out, I hit all these bullseyes completely by accident. But it pleases me that Jenny resonates in this way with her trans fans.
