:)

UNDERTALE changed my perception of many things. video games, art, storytelling. who can make those things, and why those things get made. I wouldn't be an artist without it.- iris

personally i feel like i make out of optimism, or hope, though.

like, data dreams (an old big conceptual thematic piece i made) is at first glance about the horrors of being alive, trapped in a vessel you didn’t ask for, and the torment of having to exist.

but.. it’s actually about the joy of other people, the joy of creation. the only thing the consciousness inside the internet can do is make mashup art from what other people made before it, and it loves doing that. it chooses to do that eternally until the internet is inevitably shut down. that’s hope, a bit of longing, but mostly hope.

iris @rainorchard.bsky.social · 03/11/2024

hmmmm yea. i guess you could say i’m looking for something, which is sort of what this is saying.

Your Result:
Longing
You create from longing. It is the overwhelming desire for what remains out of reach that defines your work. You are someone who is always wanting for something. The endless craving gnaws at you to the point that it would consume your every thought if you couldn't find a way to let it out. The nagging sense of lacking drives you to create, to give your desires an audience so that they do not devour you from the inside out. Creating something from your desires makes the sense of emptiness less acute. It's a way of obtaining some measure of fulfillment in spite of the constant craving for more. As long as you can create, an outlet for your longing is the one thing you can't be denied.
