I saw this on the local PBS station. I missed seeing The Day After. I thought it did a good job showing the post bomb world. Your podcast made me think, were there any Soviet nuclear war stories?

That is perhaps the most important conversation in the story.

Did you ever tell David Gerrold that? Just curious.

RainbowWar71 @rainbowwar71.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Agreed though I was surprised that they actors for Chihrio and Haku were older than the characters but no deal breaker.

Darn I wish I could seen this sooner but it was not mentioned at mass today.

I wonder if the fact the original Megatron was based on an UNCLE gun from the Man from UNCLE was also a factor in the change.

I don't think he is into sex. He might pay $1 million to humiliate people.

Curious. Was that in 1982 (Chicon iV) or 1991 (Chicon V). Sad to hear about losing that book.

I heard the no classic references had to do with Gene's divorce agreement. The first wife got Trek profits.

111

RainbowWar71 @rainbowwar71.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Agreed. I thought it was a marvelous idea. I wanted it set 20 years from the films for cross overs with the originals.

This was a picture sold at Omnicons in Fort Lauderdale in the 80s.

@legopolis.bsky.social I look as a mixed bag story. The jungle is incredible. The ship is meh. We have a commander who is angry because he is angry. The Science Fiction aspect is confusing or does make any sense. Also the first time we see the console room in over a year.

RainbowWar71 @rainbowwar71.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

Is it set in the same universe as previous 2 books? No wrong answers.

I had an issue with the Cain storyline. When there was a conflict between Cain and Adama, Rosslyn should have ended by ordering them to stand down in her role as commander in chief.

I was thinking the same thing.

David Gerrold wrote about this in The Martian Child. The story (it was a novelette and expanded novella) was tied to the adoption of his son. Not sure how real that part was.

She and Zachary Quinto appeared at convention (FX) in Orlando during the first season of Heroes. I saw her and Quinto during a Q&A and she was nice. I remember that she joked about getting to touch a script before it was released to cast and crew.
