At the weekend I was in Edinburgh and I decided to get a Borders Explorer ticket which entitles you to a return train journey from Edinburgh to Galashiels/Tweedbank and then unlimited use on Borders buses from Galashiels Interchange to some of the towns and villages in the Scottish Borders

Yesterday I had a disastrous day in Berlin, I was on an S-Bahn train which hit a fallen tree on the line so I was stuck for over an hour while the line was cleared. When we finally moved it crawled to the next station where it terminated and in the confusion I left my phone on the train seat 📱😭

It's time to head towards home, yesterday lunchtime caught the overnight Lux Express Coach from Tallinn to Warszawa. For this journey I had booked a solo premium relax seat on that coach which offers more comfort and space but unfortunately I got downgraded to a standard seat due to a coach change

I left Warszawa last night to continue my long journey into the Balkans and I took the overnight Lux Express Coach, I'd booked a premium solo relax seat for comfort but unfortunately the coach got swapped out and I got bumped down to a cramped standard seat so I didn't have the best night sleep 🥱😳

I arrived in Warsaw more or less on time 🙂 First thing I wanted to do was visit the railway museum but when I got there I found it was closed due to a special event 😔 I made my way to the old town and first thing I saw was the tomb of the unknown soldier, it's watched over by 2 armed soldiers 💂💂

I embarked on a #CrossBorderWalk from Dachsen to Rheinau, both places are in Switzerland but the route I took meant I had to go into Germany and back into Switzerland due to where the border is on the river Rhein

It's been a very eventful day in Switzerland as everything usually runs like clockwork but today I got to experience when things go wrong. I was going to Villeneuve via Lausanne except the train terminated short at Yverdon & due to exceptional construction work I ended up on a bus to Lausanne 🚌

Swiss S-Bahn Sunday 🇨🇭🚉 I decided to visit some places near Basel using the S-Bahn trains, first up was Sissach where I walked to an old castle ruin. I got sent up a death path by maps which was extremely steep & it wasn't worth the risk, I found an alternative path & made it up there.

I went to Karlshamn where I knew there was a Fortress, but what I didn't know that there is a ferry taking passengers to the Kastellet. I looked up the ferry timetables and discovered that every weekend between now and mid-June the ferry rides to the island are Free! ⛴️😀
