Today i hosted the first-ever North Jersey Tech Collective meetup, which is also the first coding & tech meetup in Sussex County, NJ! Huge thanks to everyone who came, helped, and believed in the vision. a community starts when people show up. Can’t wait for the next one!

NJTC group members around a coffee table in The Ampersand Inn living room, all looking intently at Garth, who is speaking

I’m starting the North Jersey Tech Collective, a new community for anyone in the area who is into tech. No gatekeeping, just connection & learning. Inspired by my Oma, who believed everyone has tools worth sharing. DM if you want in or want to help! #NJTech #TechMeetup #SussexCounty

Spent 4.5 hrs on the phone with quickbooks customer support today at work. Time to take a walk and get outside!

Do you get excited about an idea for a web app, jump immediately into building it, and then realize the scope of your project and end up abandoning it? I hope my newest article can help you Avoid the Graveyard of Abandoned Projects™️ 🪦💀 raisadorzback.hashnode.dev/plan-before-...

Today's 6kyu kata: www.codewars.com/kata/56b5afb... This one took me a good 25 minutes, interested to see what different solutions you all would come up with compared to mine. When I solve coding challenges, I like to write out all of my thoughts by hand on my desk. Here were my notes today :):

The beginning of the design for Flow State! This is the view of the kanban boards themselves on desktop and mobile. Let me know what you think, I would love feedback! The trash cans/pencils in the task cards will be white and only appear when hovered over. #100devs

Flow State Kanban functionality is coming along! Users can now create new boards, change board titles, add tasks, and drag & drop them to other columns! The design will be much different, but I'm focused on functionality first and then I will go back and do the frontend! Lmk your thoughts!

My first full stack app with vanilla Node--super simple, clicking the button sends an API request to my API which serves up heads or tails and its corresponding image! #100Devs

Been working on my Kanban board app functionality today, brushing up on state management and useEffect in React. Now, users can edit the title of their board! Before I stepped away I was implementing state management for adding tasks to the board, so that is where I'll start off next time. #100devs
