A campaign graphic showing Jason Kander and Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan taking a selfie together in front of a brick wall, smiling. Rebeca's logo has the feel of a hand painted Mexican sign.A quote from Jason Kander in dark font on a white graphic saying “I’m proud to announce that I am endorsing Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan for Kansas City, MO’s 4th District City Council seat. Anyone who’s been in the city for long has seen Rebeca show up time and time again. She is a bold, values-driven, pragmatic leader with genuine roots in poor and working-class America. I know that she will stand up for working families and work to create a more fair city for all. Rebeca’s potential is enormous. She’s one of our city’s most promising emerging progressive leaders and I know that she will bring the heart, hustle, and vision that Kansas City needs. I know that our city and residents will be better off with her voice on Council.”

Though it would be years away, removing the North Loop could reconnect downtown neighborhoods and open up acres of land for development, organizers say.

Yesterday, my neighborhood signed a letter with over a dozen other community organizations across the Northeast, downtown, and the Westside urging our city leaders to do everything it can to protect KCATA’s 11 Line, working-people, and union jobs. You can read it in Spanish and English below.

The vast majority of presidential candidates started off somewhere locally. City councils, county commissions, and more oftentimes have a greater impact on your daily life than what comes out of DC. If you think you're not qualified, take a moment to look at who's in the WH.
