We've finally said farewell and good riddance to "X" and to our 10K followers — many of whom are Excellent People. I wish we'd left sooner, and I hope other studios + creatives do the same. It's a deeply toxic place, and we need to build better communities, if we hope to turn the tide.

It's 2026 and the right-wing trolls are STILL obsessed with Dustborn. For context: a YouTuber probably forgot to enable streamer mode…which exists specifically to mute licensed background radio tracks.

Right-wing YouTube streamer complains about properly licensed music tracks in Dustborn triggering a content warning — because they didn't enable streamer mode.

Chud makes YouTube video titled "Dustborn REFUSES to Die: Copyright Claim Scandal EXPOSED!" and gets 19K views because that's the world we live in now.

I love the new Apple TV ident — or "sonic logo". I don't love the insinuation that CG is "fake", a "shortcut". There's just as much craft, and art, in computer graphics (disregarding genAI) as there is in practical effects; both have their place in visual storytelling.

“Literally funded by EU tax dollars”. No "dollars" involved, and the EU pre-production arts grant was under 5% of Dustborn’s total budget. Watching an "industry professional" (ex-iD, Chaosium, Microprose) recycle culture-war rage bait is pretty bleak. This is how disinformation spreads.

How can anyone NOT love our colourful, diverse, found-family, comic-book road-trip adventure? It's silly and wild and crazy ambitious; not perfect by any means, but it's heartfelt and soulful and made with a ton of love (and zero "agenda"). And Dustborn is SUPER cheap on Steam right now!

Oh thank god someone finally made a checklist. However I regret to inform you that going by this list Dustborn is zero percent woke.

Videos are, ambiguous. Many people are saying that no. And everyone has different definitions of woke. So, to avoid cyclical discussions with those who cannot resist addressing these topics to show us their superior morality, I made an easy check list.

How many of these checks?

- Remove all men from relevant roles.
- All women acting and/or fulfilling male roles.
- If there are relevant men, make them not be straight white.
- If there must be one, make him ugly, or dumb, or villain.
- If there's needed a good one, he'll make it clear he's feminist.
- Dumb male villains, to make believable their defeat by women.
- Ugliness in women so that men have not be attracted.
- If a woman needs to be less ugly, cover her, and/or make her not be straight.
- If there must be an attractive straight one, make her not show any love interest.
- And, pronouns to pander.

Some people are genuinely deranged. This is a user review of Draugen. Not Dustborn. Draugen: a game set in 1920s Norway with zero "propaganda", unless you count "mountains and fjords are real pretty" as propaganda. Oh, and play Draugen! It's a neat little mystery, perfect October entertainment.
