And before anyone cries, of course all men aren’t like this. These are the extremes. But even in the most ”progressive” households it can be seen that the women are seen as less. They are required to keep up a standard that isn’t realistic, while the men can be more laidback.

A discussion with my mom lead into how a lot of men only value women on how useful they are to them. That is why the ”Imagine if that was your mother you were talking to!” doesn’t work. Her role as his mother, if she full fills what he expects from the role, holds value. Nothing else.

Once I learnt more about it, I realized that my whole damn family is some what neurodivergent. Hence why non of us ever got help. We lived on ”This is how life is suppose to be. Just keep pushing through.” Now when I have started though, they are all slowly getting the help they need
