i'm reminded of thousands of instances where i'm stared at, misgendered with no hesitation, or told to be nice to strangers misgendering me because 'it takes time to adjust' despite them never knowing who i was before. and ironically enough i was misgendered while printing this by my professor

made this out of frustration for how i'm seen as a 'thing' first, male second, and rarely as a woman despite how hard i try to present that way. i think this problem is exacerbated by living in utah—even well-intentioned individuals do not have any exposure to trans people and do not pick up on cues
