I’ve been working something new. I have many different documents with different ways to tell the story. Last minute I changed the one I was going to read at a critique circle. Someone said “I am definitely fan boying over here and want to know more!” That feels like the crown jewel of feedback! 🎊🎊

Is there a children's book genre celebrating adult millennials who keep learning and accepting new things about themselves as they grow older? Here was my inspiration song for the early morning writing group time! Does anyone else love EMF "Unbelievable"? youtu.be/kHBCszPYHBU?...

My birthday was over a month ago- but I celebrated in a way that made me feel worthy of writing kids books! Roller skating! However I had a lot of motion sickness for a few days after. 😂 Right before my birthday I got my first rejection letter! I feel like a real author-in-training! 🎉🎊🎉✨#kidlit

Frog and Toad are my favorites! I’m more like Toad than Frog! What about you?

Does writing picture books make me see the world differently? Are these three deer looking at me and waiting for me to come with them because I am a woodland fairy? Nope still thinking about life the same way. 🎊🎊 Cheers to all of us mystic, fairy tale magic making writers. The world needs us.

Up for 5 am writing group! Not procrastinating working on my stuff at all! Saw this fun tree on a day trip with the family! I would have tried to replicate this as a kid! #christmas #writinglife

Practiced drawing a squirrel for a children’s story I wrote my friend for her birthday about our friendship! We are squirrels in the story! Took a few tries but I got it and added a balloon! How to draw a squirrel standing up video by Harriet Muller. Link in comments. #kidlit #picturebooks

Hi! I’m Raechel! This is my space to share my world of writing stories for children’s picture books! I started making up stories a few years ago about my dogs and it grew into a fun family bonding experience. So I wrote them down and eventually found @scbwi.bsky.social Let’s see what’s next!
