With the release of opus 5.5 today I am more convinced then ever that all our jobs are safe. I may change my mind in a few weeks. I will not be taking questions at this time.

Ugh. I know. All my “skills” are written for SwiftUI (written when opus was the best). Now with Fable I don’t know why I even bother with SwiftUI.

I might need to refactor my timeline view to use UIKit. The @tapbots.com Ivory app (for Mastodon) is so good and I can’t help but think a lot of that is because of UIKit.

Part of the issue is that so many in the mac/iOS/Swift community went to Mastodon and Mastodon is a really bad social networking platform.

I always say that there needs to be a fundamental change in how AI works to do all that stuff. LLMs aren’t the answer. This is not an argument that that AI people like because apparently the LLMs will figure that out.
