So I have been going through a lot lately. For the most part, I’ve been dealing with aggressive behaviors that have appeared from my youngest that never existed before while trying to seek help for the concerns we have had. I’ve been dealing with a lot of phone calls home, early pick ups, and apologizing profusely to his teacher (she’s a saint!).

We got some steps forward by opening an evaluation for autism services at school while I finally found a solution for 2 years of the kids not being medically insured (this has been a crazy process, but come Jan, they should be insured and I can take the school data as evidence for medical testing).

With that said, I have been dealing already with a lot which is why I’ve been lightening my load in fandom spaces. I love being in projects, but I’m moving to a manageable load to my newer busier life.

Then Tuesday happened…

My husband was home early after I was at the library with the kids and he’d been fired (the whole leadership team was terminated - they cleaned house) with $0 of severance pay.

This means we just lost 60%+ of our home’s income. We had already been reducing a lot of our fun money bc everything in Florida has increased so high in cost, and we were living paycheck to paycheck. But we were still managing.

Now we lost so much.

Needless to say, I’ve been panicking. I have a home and 2 kids to think of. I am secure in my job but I’m a school librarian and I was already told in Aug, due to budget cuts, my position would not be given a raise this year. So the blow of my husband losing his job hit even harder.

Luckily, he wasn’t gonna take this and immediately started applying for work and already has some interviews lined up.

Regardless, this will take a long time and we are at a loss for what to do in the immediate. We are applying for government assistance and unemployment, but these things all take time to process.

I had to break it to my kids that they will no longer be in daycare (with husband home, I don’t need before school care anymore and that reduces our bills by A LOT bc daycare costed $205 weekly) and it was devastating to break the news to them that things will be changing and a lot of their comforts will be reduced. When my youngest started crying, I knew he understood it. He’s 6 but very smart (even with his extreme behavior concerns) and seeing him go silent was the moment I realized how hard this was going to be.

But we are pressing forward and we are trying to gather ourselves to the point where my husband WILL find work, hopefully sooner rather than later.

With that said, I’m not leaving the fandom and I’m still managing the projects I have started. I don’t have a physical close support systems near me as all my family is 4 hours away, my husband doesn’t have family, and even our closest friends all live at least an hour away. So fandom is my one space where I can escape and give myself a break from reality. You all do not understand how much joy each of you bring me daily.

Some moots have encouraged me to open my Ko-Fi if anyone wants to help, but it’s okay if you can’t. Times are hard for everyone right now, but to everyone who has reached out and provided me comfort, it means so much to me.

I use Vgen mainly when it comes to booking things! I also have used Artistree before :) I like both sites tbh but I tend to lean more towards vgen cause it seems more handy for artists to use

imo it's The Morningstar family crest, the apple is Charlie, the snakes are Lucifer, the middle part is Keekee and the outside parts look like they should be Roo but I think it's vines and thorns for Lilith, her old crown and Charlie's hair ties in the portrait are brambles/thorns.

Honestly this portrayal is my favorite cause it is honestly super realistic 😅 I love it so much. Probably one of my favorite RA pieces that is a different dynamic between them (don't get me wrong I love them as fluff and smut but this is so painfully realistic I REALLY cherish it.)
