The main advantage is that some of the simpler disability adaptations (like basic hand controls) are fitted free. Also, because they are the largest UK leasing company, they have market power and can offer competitive prices. 2/2

It annoys me so much when the DM readers bang on about "free BMWs". Absolute tosh. My wife is on the max mobility allowance and it only just covers the cost of a hatchback that can fit her mobility scooter (Fiat 600). Claimants needing a larger WAV have to subsidise the car from their own pockets.

As part of the brexit deal we left the Dublin III protocol, forcing us to take responsibility for asylum seekers reaching the UK. That could be argued as a net benefit, although not one that brexiters expected, despite being told beforehand!

I'm 99% certain that is just a part of the PIP criteria for mobility part. It isn't hypothecated to Motability, it's just money to help moving around. Eg it could be spent on leasing a car, but also could be spent on taxis, buses, trains etc.

I can't taste it, but it doesn't "look" like gelato to me. It looks more solid like british ice-cream? Italian gelato looks so much softer. It also tastes creamier, although I've been told it has less fat than British ice cream. Maybe it's just a fridge temperature thing....?

It's the predictability for me. Same chains on every high street and every bland shopping centre. Somehow they need to make things seem more quirky and individual like some of the big pub brands have managed. Give me a reason to explore that high street or shop.

I find it especially intrusive when people use it for worthy local community events - school fetes, harvest fair, etc. They all look the same. Far better to have a hand written poster or even a shonky PowerPoint with 25 fonts and WordArt, imo!

WE know the BBC are not resource-constrained, but in relative terms they will be feeling the pinch. So if you, or Reform send them a plausible press release, written in the right style, all they need to do is insert a grammatical error or two and a factual inaccuracy. 2/3

I suspect a combination of political steer (from above) and laziness (from some limited insight of writing press releases for local newspapers). In my experience, resource-constrained news offices seize upon well written press releases, especially if they include a photo or chart. 1/2
