The bundle comes with a blank postcard to contribute to an ever-growing archive of radio memories - glimpses of the ways radio is lodged in the bodies and imaginations of the people who listen… Read more of these on our Instagram… www.instagram.com/p/DUs2NIsDA4...
An handwritten postcard on top of a pile of old blank cards. Text reads “perhaps at midnight, when all boundaries are lost produced by the shortwave collective reminds me of radio’s most powerful quality - that it is in the air, and that we are entangled with it. Radio is a borderless, boundless force, the perfect medium through which to transmit ideas, feelings, truths, that might meet resistance on the ground. Through radio we are also tapping into something natural and eternal, something in the atmosphere itself. This work makes me feel less alone in the world because it reminds me that I am of this world, porous and permeated by it, in reciprocal dialog with it - Ariana Martinez”A beautiful drawing on a postcard on top of a pile of old blank cards. Delicate threads move across the card the titles ‘a mother tongue’ and ‘a walk through my cucu’s farm’ are visibleAn handwritten postcard on top of a pile of old blank cards. Text reads “I remember listening to Poetry, Texas by Pejk Malinovski on my bike on the way to work in the spring. On the specific bend of road some kind of alchemy must have happened, because for years afterwards, everytime I passed that bend an image from the documentary flooded my mind - not a particular scene or sentence but a feeling of poetry Texas’“A feature from the 70s where a woman is being interviewed who is taking a bath, she is telling the interviewer about her day”

Delighted to recommend the brilliant Radijo dokumentika in @tinkmedia.bsky.social’s Audio Delicacies list this year. Glad that LRT are carving out space for these kinds of thoughtful, one-off audio docs. Listen with subtitles on their website! tinkmedia.co/audio-delica...
The Radijo Dokumentika logo - an abstract landscape built from a collage of clouds, water, a concrete building. Rendered in dreamy purples, blue and pinks Screenshot of Tink website, text reads - “Lithuania currently does not recognize either same sex marriages or civil unions. In this documentary love story for the LRT podcast Radijo dokumentika, Vitalius tenderly unspools the story of his life with partner Albinas across the course of a 52 year long relationship. After this documentary aired on Lithuanian radio, activists organized a symbolic humanist wedding ceremony for Vitalius and Albinas. Twenty thousand people signed the certificate as witnesses – a document which Vitalius has now handed over to the national museum. Rūta Dambravaitė and Inga Janiulytė-Temporin's documentary unfolds slowly and tenderly across its 50 minute runtime, trusting Vitalius' voice to hold a listener. In a year where one-off documentaries have become increasingly hard to find, I feel so grateful for the thoughtful, imaginative work of LRT.”
