I used extra wicks like you are doing, but I also started setting the fabric pots into a drip tray full of water every time I filled the bases, so the bottoms of the plants would be wet before I put them on the self watering bases. It was the only way I found to get them to always wick.

I think so. I got myself a battery powered watering wand that will let me easily reach the plants in the back of the 3x3 when the tent is full, so I’m going to try that and see how it goes.

That is impressive, tho. I remember about 20 years ago watching a few guys at Treyarch try out this new thing called 3D scanning. They were scanning a Ducati, and the amount of gear they needed for it was a lot more than just something that looks like a laser temperature gun. 😀

I have been using those bases (without the reservoir system) for a couple years now and I have mixed feelings about them. I’m not using them on this grow yet, but the plants are still kind of small for that. Still, I might just not use them this time and see what happens.
