I’ve yet to see/hear evidence that this was the intent of the murdered woman - either way, by accepted facts in evidence this is not how she wanted to go… We don’t do enough to protect women, and we don’t take admissions from males as questionable. It’s infuriating…

The National Post published an article defending the white nationalist Dominion Society because, they propose, 8% of Canadians *could,* "for argument's sake" support ethnic cleansing—meaning it's more popular than the NDP. They Included a legal argument but did not disclose the author was disbarred.
Polls have shown that roughly half of Canadians believe immigration levels are too high. Let’s say for argument’s sake that only eight per cent of Canadians support remigration, and 92 per cent oppose it. Should having only eight per cent support for your opinion mean losing your right to rent government-owned facilities, and to use public spaces like parks and sidewalks?

If yes, then no government facilities should be available for rental by the NDP, which garnered only 6.3 per cent of the popular vote in Canada’s most recent federal election. Almost 94 per cent of Canadians rejected the NDP in 2025. Yet the NDP is not disqualified from being able to exercise its Charter freedoms of expression, association and peaceful assembly.

Taking this from LinkedIn from a UOttawa colleague. His take is that the new tariffs are obviously not great, but that it could have been much worse. There is some breathing room here.
LinkedIn post from Professor Wolfgang Alschner. The White House just released its counter-counter-tariffs to Canada's counter tariffs. Main take away: More showmanship than escalation.

1) The US response is almost value neutral. The revised 50% s338 tariffs ADD 110 new tariff lines, roughly USD 1,845M worth of 2025 trade. But, the revised lists also ELIMINATE 10 tariff lines collectively worth USD1,739M of trade. Biggies that were removed include Portland cement, switchboards and lead.

2) The US also put in place an IMPORT BAN of certain Canadian products. That sounds bad. But it covers less than USD 1 billion worth of trade or 0.25% of Canadian exports. For example, the US now bans Canadian mopeds worth USD81M.

3) The US ban includes some Canadian alcohol -- but much of it is only banned in PACKAGES, but not in BULK. So you cannot export Canadian beer cans directly to US consumers. But you can send it across in bulk and package it in the US further mitigating the impact.

4) ALL the newly banned goods used to be subject to 50% s338 tariffs. That further mitigates the trade impact of the new measure.

To be clear, I am not saying this is not bad. But it could have been much worse. It is clearly more posturing than escalation.

For Canada that means keep calm and carry on.Graph that shows that the net effects of the tariffs are +$106M
