1/ i'm a bit early, but on the late night of august 20th/early morning of august 21st 1968, the soviet union with warsaw pact troops invaded czechoslovakia. it was a reminder that the USSR, despite its rhetoric of solidarity, operated on the same imperial logic as the empires it claimed to oppose.
