This is exactly why we should have seen it on screen, instead of being left wondering why Lucifer just got trapped in a jar and immediately gave up for the last 2 episodes of the season 😭 he needed to at least try. But it felt like they were afraid to even try to explain it bc it makes no sense lol

I wasn't actually sure but this is what the wiki says. Bc they arent "weapons" per se, the restraints seem more akin to angelic rope that was used to Stolas in HB. But that's used to suppress demonic power, not angelic power, which Lucifer has for days. He should absolutely be able to easily escape

Instead all they say is that it's angelic metal. Which, OK, first of all, it's glass. But second, angelic steel ISN'T kryptonite, and it ISN'T unbreakable by angels. They're just vulnerable to getting stabbed by it. Zero reason why Lucifer should be stuck in there. HE DOESN'T EVEN TRY TO ESCAPE😭

- Vox get hooked into a bunch of electronics this season, shooting his electricity down the wires and stuff - Lucifer is not able to hurt Sinners Why didn't they just make the "cage" he's stuck in some kind of extension of Vox. Tie in the nerf and give an actual reason why he can't break it

But angelic steel isn't like kryptonite to angels, it's what angels use in their weapons. Touching it doesn't restrain them from using their powers. There's no reason he shouldn't be able to teleport out of there, shapeshift, or do literally anything. He didn't even try any of it lol

Finally—if Hell is concerned about keeping Sinners in line, why would they limit Lucifer's ability to do just that??? It's just transparently a retcon to make sure Vox is able to be a legitimate threat this season. Which, fine, they had to find a way to address it somehow, but call it what it is

It also makes no sense logically, because if Heaven can just full-stop bar him from harming Sinners... why wouldn't they also stop him from harming Angels? Adam probably would have appreciated that when Lucifer was beating him to death. We know Heaven fears him. Why would they only shield Sinners?

Making him physically unable to harm Sinners just takes away agency from him, removing any potentially more interesting reasons for why Lucifer doesn't interfere with Sinners—for example, an enduring belief in their entitlement to free will, *even* if he hates the choices they make!
