This is great news. New Yorkers are fighting back against Flock's creepy cameras - and winning. Automatic license plate readers like Flock are invasive, prone to error, and the data they collect is frequently abused by the police and government agencies. Mass surveillance doesn't keep us safe.

Because of our lawsuit, no patient records from NYU or Mt. Sinai have been disclosed to the DOJ as part of these settlements — and that block remains in full effect. It’s beyond shameful that the Trump administration has strong-armed these hospitals into a deal that betrays New York families.

This is not public safety. Curfews are historically flawed measures: they invite discriminatory enforcement, especially against Black and brown people. They also restrict movement, which everyone has a fundamental right to. Mayor Evans should urgently reconsider this ban.

People detained in 26 Federal Plaza were held in over-crowded cells without basic necessities like showers, beds or access to their lawyers. We went to court to hold the government accountable for this inhumane treatment, and ensure that no other people are subjected to these illegal conditions.
