Well a poor turn of phrase on my part. However you have the skill set to analyse both risks and rewards of AI/LLMs in the current situation. There are no shortage of AI boosters on Bluesky or elsewhere. There are a shortage of people like yourself with an eye to the strategic level implications.

The reason for it not being US controlled should be obvious given the link between AI promoters and the regime that is threatening the sovereignty of an autonomous territory of the Danish Crown. So unless you keep that obvious negatives of the current reality of AI, you are not doing your job.

That is great but I cannot help but feel that is not you doing your job. Your job would be to clarify the risks and rewards of AI adoption for Danish and by extension European (Union plus) autonomy and defence. Because it is clear that Europe needs European controlled AI not USA AI.

I think it is a false assumption to imagine that Russia is too tied up in the one war to fight another. Nor to imagine that because it is losing that one war it will choose not to start a second. Napoleon, Ludendorff, Hitler and Tojo all convinced themselves a extra enemy or few was the answer.

Oh it gets better, Farage is now facing Count Binface in his self-imposed byelection. The comedian versus the crook. Would be hilarious if Binface wins.

...attacks the USSR (that irony thing), Japan unable to beat China attacks America both those last in 1941, Saddam Hussein unable to beat Iran picks on Kuwait 1990. Not that any of those worked as intended but dictators always think they are special.

It is a logic attempted by many unsuccessful autocratic conquerors in the past. Look at Napoleon 1812, cannot beat Britain attacks Russia (ironically Russia gets picked on a lot by this logic), Luderndorff in order to beat Britain attacks American shipping 1917, Hitler unable to beat Britain...

It is both funny and humbling how true heroes never seem to think of themselves as heroes.

Going to say that war with Russia is close to inevitable. If we screw up massively Russia will invade us after Ukraine. More likely attacking part of Europe will be a Hail Mary after Putin realises he is losing in Ukraine. We need to be ready.

Just old style nuclear warheads will do. The British deterrent is designed to flatten Moscow even assuming the Anti-Ballistic Missile works as advertised (so much better than normal Russain Air Defence). The French deterrent force will flatten all the other bumps on that heat map.

Whereas you sir, were a man so secure the USA trusted you with sitting in a room with a key that, if turned, could have rendered the rest of us history.

Last I checked France (Nuclear power) and the UK (also a nuclear power but with its deterrent tied to a tech sharing arrangement with the USA) were in Europe. Both capable of independent nuclear launch. I think in any slicing Rutte was talking dangerous nonsense.

One of the reasons the Danes and Greenlanders won't sell Greenland is that the last time they sold some real estate to the USA, some of it got turned into Epstein Island.

The timing of the tariffs is a great example of a self-own, they will feed into inflation in the US and hit US consumers more intensely as the Mid-Term campaigning intensifies. Yes the US is that terrible friend but I expect TACOs this year. Obviously next year is a whole new order of dementia.

Is this a new Russian thing, equipped with but not capable of using?

Excellent reporting as always. On the point about further "SMOs" do not confuse inability with any chance of restraint. This is what a lot of authoritarian regimes do when they bog down in a war, they convince themselves they can win a different one!

Well Russia's war has always been against the Ukrainian economy, well and truth. Trump will also want to hide that democracy produces better outcomes than the continued unchallenged rule of some geriatric dictator.

Except that is a false framing. The EEC embargoed the Argentines, France went all out to secure all Exocet missiles globally to stop any Argentine resupply, Spain intercepted an Argentine sabotage op, other countries helped in various quiet ways too.

Ah the mighty Oreshnik, once fired...no that is it, it was fired once. I realise this is an improvement on Sarmat but then so too are bottle rockets. Has anyone asked Pootin if the 91 Ukrainian drones are in the room with him? Those things are scary.

racingrodent.bsky.social @racingrodent.bsky.social · 23/12/2025
Well that is what they are gambling everything on but right now they have not even overcome the constitutional blocks on staying in power forever. It was noted how fast Trump was moving compared to most nascent dictatorships but right now it looks like they both moved too fast and fell short.

To be fair, at this point a US frigate would be something, given they have even managed to screw up copying the FREMM.

Someone remind Salvini Türkiye exists, the Russians tried conquering them for centuries. Finland exists, they had to throw off Russian tyranny. Poland exists, they had to win free of the Russians twice. The Ukrainians actually understand history, they know they can win.

Dear glorious Prez. When did you first realise you could be successful by performing as Enron cosplaying as the Soviet Union? Are there any other tips for aspiring dictators of failed states?

racingrodent.bsky.social @racingrodent.bsky.social · 10/12/2025
Weirdly in Russia in World War 1 food rationing was only brought in after they had collapsed. It was brought in by the Bolsheviks who went on to win the Civil War but lost control of several chunks of the Russian Empire, Pootin is looking to claw back. .

That metric looks even worse when you recall that a lot of the rest of the male population are either too old or too sick to fight, vital workers or Moscow elites.

Well good. Imagine a China smart enough to realise swapping Russia to the US for the functional countries of Europe was a bargain? Imagine how much more of a danger to future freedom that would be?

Enjoyed this as it more solution minded than too many videos on the subject. The Russians will attack, look at Napoleon, Hitler, Tojo Hideki etc when authoritarians war plan A fails they often look for someone as strong or stronger to have a fight with. We need to be ready, it will lower the cost

I get it, you are angry, you emigrated to the one country that has actually surrendered to Russia. You know the solution? Join those demonstrating against Trump and campaigning for new elected leaders to stand up to him in Congress. Stop spreading Russian propaganda.

This is the problem with the narrative the US media is spinning. At the current rate of advance, Pootin needs another 4 years just to reach the borders of Donbas. Even if Trump refused to sell any more weapons (his usual screw American jobs) and stopped intel Ukraine would still see out his term.
020
racingrodent.bsky.social @racingrodent.bsky.social · 22/11/2025
Anyone who thinks Ukraine might cave if the US does has not studied Ukrainian history. The proposed declaration of American surrender is just that. It will not bring peace. The only quick path to peace is Russian withdrawal from Ukraine. If an idiot squirrel can work that out, surely all can.

Sorry but that is silly. It is like saying Ukraine will be short of perhaps more than half its ammo in a few weeks. It is like saying hey Europe take Russia seriously when it rattles its empty sabre scabbard. It is like saying "hey Pootin, keep attacking Ukraine, you are not feckless loser"

If only the robot had fallen on him, it might have toppled the regime or just squashed a body double but Pootin would have found that nearly as embarrassing.

It is fine, two sources are better than one. Traditional media for the folks still back in the 20th century, independent media for those that prefer more accuracy. Good that he is in custody, now to press that he sees due process and hopefully justice.

The analogy in my head right now is the Pless Conference Jan 8 1917. Imperial Germany knew they were losing the war but gambled that attacking the world's shipping would bring Britain to its knees faster than it would the US into the war. The enemies of dictators are always weak apparently.

Stockpiles, everything that has not completely rusted from Soviet times and everything the Russian Federation produced since 1991. It has all been spent on this war. The war chest for the planned conquest of Europe is looking a bit bare right now. Hell they are looking a bit short for Ukraine!

Well if you look at tanks per figures from IISS the Russians took delivery of maybe 175 T-90M Feb 2022-Dec 2024. Poland alone took delivery of 84 K2 MBTs from dec 2022-dec 2024. Those are from Hyundai in the ROK, so Europe is not just Europe when it comes to rearming.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend. In 1914 the Tsar mobilised 3.1 million men with nothing better than a phone and a typewriter. In 2022 the Putin regime could not track down 750,000 Army reservists. The answer was bureaucratic decline. Vlad the Bad has gutted the Russian state.
