Alternate version of Lorna Toolis for Quill & Quire @quillandquire.bsky.social. Not the published version, but I did like the simple color scheme as well.

For Quill & Quire - A portrait in memory of Lorna Toolis, librarian and former head of the Toronto Public Library’s Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation, and Fantasy. Lorna was a big proponent of science fiction and was mentioned in book acknowledgments by Margaret Atwood and others.

Illustrated portrait of librarian Lorna Toolis surrounded by sci-fi elements.

Colour variants for two editions of a cover I made for McGraw-Hill Publishing. OG is in blue & green, with a warmer version we made for the updated version.

I'm Rachel Idzerda, an illustrator who specializes in portraiture but loves making imagery of all kinds. After a bit of a social media hiatus I have a long backlog of unposted (but published) work that I'm itching to finally share!
