Listening to The Stand. It’s been a few years since I last listened to it, and I’m always amazed at King’s ability to build out characters in this book. Say what you want about King, but the way he moves forward and back in time in this book is some of the most incredibly structured writing.

Just saw The Odyssey. Incredible storytelling from Nolan. The structure that he took with this movie to tell the story was brilliant. That he was able to do what he did in one movie attests to tight and crisp vision for the movie.

I think what’s important to remember about a movie like Deep Blue Sea is that somehow they cast Samuel L. Jackson, Stellan Skarsgard, LL Cool J, and Michel Rapaport in the same movie. And it’s a movie about super smart sharks used to cure Alzheimer’s. Like there’s just a lot going on here.
