I now have an intimate knowledge of folk songs circa 1,100 CE, which is very niche knowledge that will be absolutely useless anywhere else And also Norwegian Forest cats. These two things are somehow related

okay so i fucked up and a wee lil haha concept from a dream i had turned into two weeks and /checks notes/ 63,000 words so far. i havent been this invested in writing a new story since that time I wrote 100k in 18 days. No, no one heard from me that whole time On another note, there's this banger

"whatchu been up to?" yes. given myself a release date of the 10th October, cause I go start my certification a week later so like, lmao won't have time to do this no more. no pressure

UngovernableRaccoon @raccoonmutiny.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

been a while since i got to work on something with colour; decided that the art inserts will be in colour versus greyscale, thankfully that's not too complicated (though the print version will be in greyscale for the sake of pricing) what an insert to start on lmao (^^ゞ

my favourite part is finding opening quotes that showcase the reader what they're in for; and, funnily enough, the English and French versions are different (but by the same author lmao) but, in both cases, the books saved my life and, moreover, shaped Sage as a whole

WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO DO "what themes does HiaC have" MY GUY I DONT HAVE A CLUE I JUST WROTE THE DAMN THING OKAY

UngovernableRaccoon @raccoonmutiny.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

when a song dropped by your fave artist makes you edit a completed manuscript to add a new scene because it adds that little bit of *clutches pearls* and is the perfect song for Maì and Sage, like what did anyone THINK was going to happen

120

UngovernableRaccoon @raccoonmutiny.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

as i slam Sage's playlist on repeat and power through some of these inserts, i thought to find some old concept arts of the story; these all date around 2016-2017 boy am i glad i injected melanin into Maì's skin and made them older lmao

I'm beating away the urge to write *two* (2) fics at the moment because apparently Copper Coins lit a fire under my ass So, instead, to commemorate how half of the art inserts are done, here's a thread of my favourite passages for each major character in Hope is a Cult

great news! things are really fast when you know what you're doing! Somehow the file is bigger \_(ツ)_/ ̄ the import this time around actually successfully pulled the custom fonts, though I didn't do anything different. something something fuck it

UngovernableRaccoon @raccoonmutiny.bsky.social · 03/08/2026

Guess who accidentally nerfed the whole file trying to repackage the /completed/ e-book and reverted it to it's un-edited state with no way to undo this i am going to eat my own fist

UngovernableRaccoon @raccoonmutiny.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

hey look at that we're getting somewhere folks, actually beginning to flesh out the listing for the E-Book ♪(´▽｀) cover design isn't final, but after hitting 90% completion of the edits on the e-book, I thought it time to start banging my head over the description lmao shit's hard man

anyway, in case anyone was wondering how heavy HiaC's manuscript is _(:3」∠)_ the french version has an additional 12,000 words :')

UngovernableRaccoon @raccoonmutiny.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

"what you been up to on this weird hiatus?" had to re-draw (sorta) one of HiaC's first panels for a book plate, slapped some colour onto it real quick to see the difference and wow it's kinda neat seeing what nine months does huh with any luck, i think i can have the book available for my birthday
