Not a runner but do enjoy the occasional bike ride around town. I keep one ear bud out and am constantly looking around. There are several train tracks through town and a few years ago a teen was killed when he rode across with headphones on and didn't hear the train.

I was born right before the chicken pox vaccine became widely available. My younger sisters were vaxed but not me. They both got a very mild case of chicken pox later and I somehow managed to avoid it. Finally got the vaccine while I was in the hospital giving birth to my oldest at 22.

I'm in desperate need of a win. Late Tuesday morning my husband checked our bank account to find a fraudulent withdrawal pending. It has been a fight since then to not only stop it from going through but also get all the money transferred to a new account before they tried again yesterday morning.

A few months ago my sister had to have our 19 year old cat put down. She had been the one to bring her home as a kitten when we were in high school. The last photos I have of her she's cuddling with my son.

There's a station near me in NWI that's literally just a couple pumps and no store/attendant. Usually 10-20¢ cheaper than everywhere else. $2.69 when I stopped Monday. The sign was off this morning but every other station I passed was over $3.

Maternal grandpa was in the army reserves during Vietnam and then a steel worker. Paternal grandfather was a POS who got into some trouble and ran off when my dad was a kid. My (step) grandpa was an army mechanic in Vietnam and then a carpenter.

We have them in Indiana too. My dog and I found an injured baby outside of my apartment one morning. There's a vet down the road who will take in wildlife so I took it there. My sister works for him and was able to let me know later that it unfortunately didn't survive.

In exactly 4 weeks I'll turn 36. This morning I found my first gray hair. I wasn't sure how I would handle this inevitable change but it definitely wasn't postponing brushing my teeth because I was too busy standing in the bathroom laughing.

My sister is likely to have her ~20 year old cat that she brought home as a kitten when we were teens put down soon. My son is going to miss going over to her house and cuddling with her. I miss when she would curl up with my oldest daughter while I held her as a baby.

Last month my 9 year old woke me up about 1 am to tell me he threw up. He tried very hard to make it to the bathroom. The only part of the toilet he didn't throw up on was the lid to the tank. About 12 hours later I had to go pick my 8 year old up from school because she threw up too.

My family is all over the country so FB is the easiest way to share updates and photos/videos of my kids. Pretty much the only way to get news for my town too. Also had a friend taken off life support over the weekend and FB was how his family was updating everyone. Just don't use it much anymore.

Just got the news from my mom that family friends of ours have made the difficult decision to have their son taken off his ventilator. His health had been in rapid decline over the last couple years primarily due to his diabetes. He's only 33.

Growing up extended family was 24th, then at home for 25th. Now that I've got my own kids it's spread out over several days. This year my dad's side tomorrow, gifts from us Monday, rest of family 24th, Santa 25th.

My grandparents just replaced their 35 year old wood deck with composite over the summer. Only issue they have so far is some of the planks aren't level. My grandma is a fall risk so hopefully they'll get it handled soon.

My favorite is Salem's Lot but The Dark Tower series is wonderful and I can't recommend it enough. It's a good mix of western, sci-fi, and fantasy. I've actually been itching to read through it again.

I have a dent in my left shin from slipping off a stack of bricks when I was about 13, a small scar on my right hand from a dog attack when I was 17, and one on my right knee that I have no memory of.
