Hah, the boot loader defaults to Linux. so every time windows needs to update & restart, it's basically asking me to stop using windows. And since the update is forced, it'll do it to itself if I wait long enough

Lol. Reading "Jurgen: A Comedy of Justice", by James Branch Cabell. And Jurgen's about to swordfight a romantic rival: "If Heitman Michael perforated Jurgen the future would be altered, certainly, but not quite as Jurgen had decided it ought to be remodeled."

With that he too whipped out his sword.
So they fought. Now Jurgen was a very acceptable swordsman, but from the start he found in Heitman Michael his master. Jurgen had never reckoned upon that, and he considered it annoying. If Heitman Michael perforated Jurgen the future would be altered, certainly, but not quite as Jurgen had decided it ought to be remodeled. So this unlooked-for complication seemed preposterous, and Jurgen began to be irritated by the suspicion that he was getting himself killed for nothing at all.

Finished reading "Point Counterpoint" by Aldous Huxley and it's a light satire that explores the awful behavior between a cast of British elite caricatures. Conversations and philosophical musings are mixed with long attempts to justify a characters' actions. Beautifully written. Terrible people.

Just finished reading "Looking Backward 2000-1887" by Edward Bellamy and it's full of political ideas that (unfortunately) still resonate over 100yrs later. It's almost non-stop progressive musings that identify and then offer solutions to class and economic inequality inherent to capitalism

"Vile Bodies" is a delightful satire of the 1920s young society It's like if Wes Anderson adapted the Great Gatsby, with its rigid character archetypes 100% dedicated to the stereotype, and sharp back-and-forth dialogue that effortlessly slides between hilarious and (sort of) sincere

Finally got around to "the Witches" by Roald Dahl!!! A lights-on horror book that manages to perfectly tow the line between farcical and genuinely scary through the way it handles permanence. There's a lot of opposites, parallels and juxtapositions to unpack. The ending might be a bit polarizing
