'Showy milkweed' is actually fairly common along the Wasatch Front in Utah. The plant pictured grows beside my garage. The uncommon varieties grow in the "Basin and Range" desert and nearer to Nevada or further south. A month ago, further down on my feed, there's a pic of the much rarer one.

I think I'd feel better if the world would stop imploding, but then I'd still be exhausted and discouraged. Some days, I just watch cartoons or comedians until I laugh and realize I can't control the world --I just need to laugh at it and get back to my own world of art. Don't let the world run you.

Ammonite from Triassic of Utah. (Meekoceras) About 3". My wife found this one. I cleaned it up a bit and decided to leave it in situ.
