Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Honest question. Isn't IMAX just how cinemas used to be before we got multiplex cinemas with small screens and small audiences? I'm thinking the old ABCs/Gaumonts etc that just had a couple of huge screens. 100
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 11/09/2026This is the 3rd Opin/Fess I've read today that made me check if I'd clicked on a Viz post. 000
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 25/08/2026Joke's on them with petrol at £1.80+ a litre. It's just unburned fuel. 130
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 13/08/2026You're already with Sky so persuade your husband to take out their home insurance and receive their Sky Protect cameras. They're so shit a 10 piece marching band could go up and down in front of your door for half an hour and it might pick up the back of their heads on the last pass. 000
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Happened to an old friend of mine who did something silly with his mum's car when he was 17. A little while later he passed his test first time and his new license arrived with 6 points on it. If true, the OP's an idiot. 070
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 11/08/2026The Rich Tea to Walker's Shortbread scale. Or RTWS ranking if you like. And then something for cold milk. All bets are off for cold milk. A Choco Leibniz is an absolute nightmare with tea. But with cold milk? Soggy biscuit (you at the back, stop it) held together by brittle chocolate. 020
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 28/07/2026Well, if he lands in the UK (lands? does the Son of God "land" 🤷♂️) then he'll need a VPN or photo ID. Which could prove tricky for someone who hasn't been around for 2000 years. 000
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Can't remember having to parallel park but my driving instructor did this with a matchstick to help with reversing round a corner. 000
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Beetles were fun. They had a rudimentary automatic choke based on a bi-metallic strip holding the throttle open when cold. But it always closed too early meaning the first couple of junctions involved dipping the clutch, braking and revving the accelerator at the same time. Fancy footwork. 110
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 04/07/2026Same. And I remember some arsehole at school making out he was better than me by saying he watched Monty Python's Flying Circus and I didn't. I said I didn't like circuses. I looked stupid for a bit but he's probably still an arsehole. 010
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 03/07/2026Used to work in a bar restaurant in the late 80s/90s very close to the Yorkshire Television studios. David Jason was a complete arse to "the little people". Fun fact: we had to bar Dennis Waterman too. His sister called the next day to apologise and ask for the bar to be lifted. Manager said no. 040
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 29/06/2026My eldest is off to university shortly. Should I tell him that dogs can, in fact, look up? 020
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 04/06/2026Yes, Mr Walkman firmware I think isn't it? I'll wait and see what mine comes with. I ordered Bordeaux Red 😉 010
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 03/06/2026Funnily enough I've just ordered a NW-A35 from Hong Kong. 110
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 22/05/2026Had the pleasure of meeting Limmy at a charity do once. He was surprisingly down to earth, and VERY funny. 2100
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 19/05/2026Swap it for one of the Sky ones. They're so laggy they never catch anything anyway. 000
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 14/05/202670s kids. We managed to get through the fencing by the rail tracks that carried the freight trains from the pits. We'd put coins on the tracks, hide and wait for a train to run over them. A 2p coin would be the size of your palm. Amazed we didn't die. 090
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 05/05/2026I'd prefer a buzzer to remind people to turn off their rear fog. That they turned on 3 weeks ago because it was a bit misty. 250
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 23/04/2026Exactly. I live in London and I'd love to use Yorkshire Water because the stuff that comes out of the taps down here tastes like shit. And I'm sick of buying kettles. 110
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 15/04/2026Caught a bit of that Yesterday movie on TV last night. Made me realise that I really do like the songs. It's the fucking Beatles I can't stand. 011
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 14/04/2026Looks like you're good to go www.minidisc.wiki/guides/webmi... Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 06/04/2026Sheffield here 👋 We don't get any of that £7.3bn because we made the wise decision to farm out our road maintenance to Amey. Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Reminds me of that old joke. I think from an era when Sainsbury's were perceived as a bit brown rice/middle class. Why do Sainsbury's exist? To keep the riff raff out of Waitrose. 020
Old Man @r77mem.bsky.social · 31/03/2026IIRC they said something like "In light of the news from New York/America we're not going to..." and it was either not play some daft game or not play some daft song. By the time I got home it was on every channel. Mark & Lard are forever connected to 9/11 for me 😬 110
