I think the best reason i can give why androids don't have surname yet. It's because they have codenames and their respective number ID's. And naturally of course, some though process is needed to make a unique surname.

Made myself some twitter/bluesky banners with some different variations while also trying to figure out how to go with my OC's universe.

J.A.E.C, what is this company? Well, let's just say. It's similar to Aperture Science, both companies started around the 40's or 50's and both are based in the U.S, but J.A.E.C started with some agricultural stuff and then into the space race, which resulted in a creation of an analog AI, but obviously. J.A.E.C has been burning through money faster because somewhere around the 70's they got into robotics. But naturally this would cause them to be bankrupt. Oh and also the CEO passed away via radiation poisoning because she involved herself in a lot of dangerous test. The nail in the coffin was a possible radiation leak which definitely isn't good. I don't wanna write too much so I'm gonna compress how J.A.E.C has been going through its rise, downfall to absolute resurrection and eventually all time success.
Farm stuff > Space Race > Creation of Celestia > Questionable testings > The OG CEO died > Oh Shit! > Goes bankrupt after being active for 4 decades > Celestia gets abandoned for safety > 2 decades pass and Celestia gets rediscovered by CEO's grandkids > now what? > A few years later J.A.E.C gets resurrected by the same grandkids > not bad > Celestia finally becomes an early android and not AI stuck in IBM computer > once again years go by, Celestia gets improvements to the point she start to look human and look at that society is getting better as more Androids appear for sure nothing ba-💥 > ☢️-WAR > now that's awkward and now J.A.E.C making war androids > anyway, Celestia begins a android war movement and she actually succeeding at it > War ends and world development accelerates so far it reaches space colonial age > ok, now a Galactic age one > fym it's already first contact > oh, multiverse travel but only in their dimension > and yada yada.. etc... ....
