Hot diagnostics take: if Elizabeth Holmes' revolutionary new blood testing scheme that she's dictating to her partner FROM FEDERAL PRISON is Raman spectroscopy, I think it's a pretty safe dud. Raman is great if you're trying to avoid water signal, but is a notoriously insensitive technique.

People say that lateral flow or rapid tests can't pick up modern strains of Covid. I'm here to fight that with a real world example (not mine). This (6 month expired!) test was designed against a 2020 strain and picked up someone with day 1 symptoms very very quickly.
